New staff members include academic, technical and administrative staff, PhD students, visiting staff from abroad, and visiting and exchange students.
If you are a new member of staff, the head of the research group where you are going to work appoints a mentor to help you get established and registered, and to introduce you to procedures, buildings and other staff members at MBG and – if you are coming from abroad – registration with the Danish authorities.

In cases where a new staff member is not affiliated with a research group, the head of department appoints a mentor.
To get access to the laboratories, facilities, calendar system, e-mail and news system, you need to register at the department.
1) Academic staff, technical and administrative staff, and PhD students
Please fill out this form (to download form: right click and save on your computer) and return it to Dorte Abildskov (or Rikke Mie Rahbek). You will then receive an @mbg.au.dk e-mail address, and a profile page will be automatically generated on the department’s staff/student website. You should subsequently upload more information (research area, publications, etc.) yourself in PURE. You will also be asked by the department’s photographer to have your photo taken for the website and bulletin board.
2) Visitors – including visiting and exchange students
Please fill out this form (to download form: right click and save on your computer) and return it to Dorte Abildskov (or Rikke Mie Rahbek). You will then receive an @mbg.au.dk e-mail address, and a profile page will be automatically generated on the department’s staff/student website. You should subsequently upload more information (research area, publications, etc.) yourself in PURE (does not apply to students). You will also be asked by the department’s photographer to have your photo taken for the website.
Visiting researcher/guest PhD student are covered by the university’s insurance in case of an accident just like the staff at AU.
Key cards/keys for the department and other buildings
All new staff and students must contact Dorte Abildskov or Rikke Mie Rahbek for registration and information.
PURE (PUblication&REsearch Platform) is a web-based system used for:
1) registration of research publications and research dissemination activities
2) registration of research areas
3) registration of personal information for the staff websites
The information in PURE is used for:
1) Allocation of funding based on the number of peer-reviewed publications
2) Staff websites
3) Find a researcher
Brightspace is the joint learning management system at Aarhus University.
