Guest researchers and interns

Guest researchers (PhD and up)

Please take contact to the secretariat as soon as you know about your guest. If the guest is a non-EU citizen, the guest must most likely apply for a work permit.

The secretariat will initiate the application procedure via the International Staff Office (ISO). ISO will ensure that the correct type of visa is applied for. At the secretariat, we will register the guest in AU’s systems and create an AU-mail if necessary.

Interns

Interns from non-EU-countries must ALWAYS apply for a work permit. There are NO EXCEPTIONS - no matter what the intern has been told from her/his home country or read on the internet.

As soon as you have accepted an intern to come to your lab, you must take contact to the secretariat. Currently, it takes up to three months to be granted a work permit. Therefore, it is essential that the application is initiated early in the process.

Before you agree to accept an intern, you must inform the intern about the following:

  • the intern must be able to prove that he or she is able to provide for herself/himselfselves (Currently DKK 6,400 per month*). Proof must be uploaded when the intern fills in her/his part of the visa application.
  • the intern must pay the application fee (currently DKK 4,200*).
  • interns are responsible for finding accommodation for their stay.
  • it is essential that MBG initiates the application. This will ensure that the correct type of visa is applied for and a smoother application procedure for MBG as well as the intern.

At the secretariat we will register the guest in AU’s systems and create an AU-mail if necessary.
